On November 14, 2024, Baku Stock Exchange moderated the panel discussion on "Climate finance landscape in the South Caucasus and Central Asia" at the Green Zone of COP29 conference.
The moderator of the panel Ruslan Khalilov, CEO of Baku Stock Exchange with the speakers Rolande Simone Pryce, World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus, Yano Hiroko, Executive Officer, Director General of Sustainability Management Department of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Manas Gizhduaniyev, CEO of AIFC / Green Finance Centre, and Bahruz Naghiyev, Deputy CEO of PASHA Bank discussed the current situation and future potential of climate finance in these regions, focusing on sustainable investment, public-private partnerships, and international collaboration and highlighting the financial mechanisms available to support climate resilience and adaptation.
The purpose of the event is to bring together representatives of international financial institutions and the corporate private sector to discuss the challenges, regional priorities, and pathways for increasing financial flows to advance climate action across the South Caucasus and Central Asia.
