Farid Akhundov brings nearly 30 years of leadership experience in the finance and banking sectors. As the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Baku Stock Exchange since 2023, he oversees the strategic direction and operational excellence of the Exchange, driving growth and aligning with global best practices.

Previously, Mr. Akhundov served as CEO and Supervisory Board Member of Pasha Bank, where he played a pivotal role in its establishment and development into a leading corporate banking institution in Azerbaijan. He also led the successful rebranding and profitability initiatives at Bank Standard and contributed significantly to the growth of HSBC Bank Middle East, advancing to Deputy CEO.

Mr. Akhundov holds a Master’s degree in International Business from the University of Salford, an Economics Diploma from Azerbaijan State Economics Institute, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Management from Nottingham Trent University.
