On May 29, 2025, the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) took part in the 11th CFA CEE Investment Conference, held at the Sabancı Center in Istanbul. The event brought together regional and global financial leaders to explore themes such as market development, cross-border collaboration, global capital attraction, and the transformative impact of innovation, regulation, and digitization.
The conference featured distinguished speakers including Mr. Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), who addressed energy security, investment, and climate action; Mr. Mehmet Şimşek, Minister of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Türkiye, who provided insights into the Turkish economy; and Mr. Fatih Karahan, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, who spoke on monetary policy, macroeconomic stability, and the shifting global financial environment.
Panel discussions throughout the day focused on the evolving role of regional stock exchanges, risk management, growth strategies, and the competencies required to succeed in an increasingly digital financial ecosystem.
Mr. Ruslan Khalilov, CEO of the Baku Stock Exchange, contributed to a high-level panel discussion dedicated to market development and cross-border cooperation. The panel explored strategies for attracting global capital, advancing innovation, and strengthening regulatory frameworks—while also emphasizing the pivotal role of exchanges in promoting sustainable economic growth.
