On March 6, 2025, “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality" event was held at the Baku Stock Exchange in partnership with the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) and United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative (UN SSE).   

Mr. Ogtay Gasimov, Deputy CEO and Chief Commercial Officer of Baku Stock Exchange welcomed the guests with an opening speech, followed by remarks from Mr. Edward Evans, Charge d’affairs of the British Embassy, Baku, Mrs. Parvana Bayramova, Programme Specialist, UN Women Azerbaijan, Mrs. Umeyra Ibrahimova, Director of Capital Market Policy and Regulation Department at the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mrs. Rana Isgandarova, CEO deputy of National Depositary Center, Mrs. Parvana Gasimova, Director of CFI Financial Investment Company, Mr. Murad Yahyayev, Executive Director of AFBIA.

The participants of the event expressed their thoughts on how this global initiative by exchanges around the world aims to foster gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace, and community, and promote the benefits of doing so.

At the end, the opening bell was rung with the participation of the guests.

It should be noted that the Baku Stock Exchange started cooperation with the UN Sustainable Stock Exchange Initiative Group (UN SSE) and the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) in 2020, and every year in the first week of March the UN Sustainable Stock Exchange Initiative Group and the World Exchange Federation, together with the members are conducting the "Ring the Bell for Gender Equality" event.
