On September 24, 2025, the Baku Stock Exchange, in partnership with the CFA Institute, introduced ADA University students to new opportunities for professional development in finance and investments through the CFA Institute Investment Foundations® Certificate and the Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev Scholarship Program.

During the session, representatives of the CFA Institute presented the Investment Foundations® Certificate, a globally recognized course offering essential insights into the structure of the global financial system, ethical responsibilities, and the investment industry. Tailored for students aiming for careers in finance, economics, or business, the program is available under this initiative at a special discounted rate of $79 instead of the standard $350.

Students who successfully complete the program will be eligible to apply for the CFA Level I exam, fully covered under the H.Z. Taghiyev Scholarship Program, launched by the Baku Stock Exchange. The program was presented by Sabina Atayeva, Head of PR & Marketing at BSE, who highlighted its objectives and significance.

The Scholarship Program carries the name of H.Z. Taghiyev, a visionary philanthropist renowned for his dedication to education and cultural progress in Azerbaijan. Taghiyev personally funded the first girls’ school in the South Caucasus and played a vital role in advancing the nation’s educational landscape. His legacy also connects deeply with the history of Azerbaijan’s capital markets: in the early 20th century, the construction of the Shollar water pipeline to Baku was financed through the bond issuance in the capital markets, initiated by Taghiyev himself.

By honoring his legacy, the BSE aims to foster a new generation of highly qualified finance professionals. The H.Z. Taghiyev Scholarship Program seeks to enhance students’ academic knowledge and professional skills, increase the number of CFA charterholders in Azerbaijan, and ultimately contribute to the sustainable development of the country’s capital markets.
